Wiko, is a French phone manufactured by Chinese company Tinno mobile to expand their market to France and other regions in Europe, it has not been dull in expanding to Africa being one of the first brands to introduce Dual-Sim Android phones.
Nokia, on the other hand, has been in and out of the market and now they are back in. Having been the King of Java phones globally and especially in Nigeria, it would seem like they were not able to keep up with the Smartphone rave and so they must have faded with the Java tide but don’t jump to conclusions yet.
Nokia is still leading in Java Phones
Nokia is still leading in producing Java phones and they produce smartphones too. They have come to soften our hearts. But today let’s see if they can beat one of those that pushed them out of the Nigerian phone market: Wiko.
To represent Nokia today is the Nokia 6.1 plus which was produced in mid-2018 and to represent Wiko is the Wiko View2 Pro which was produced in early 2018. Let’s see if the comeback is still going down for a fall.
Nokia 6.1 Plus vs Wiko View 2 PRO: Display
The Nokia 6.1 has the following features: IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors, 5.8 inches screen size, (~81.5% screen-to-body ratio) and 1080 x 2280 pixels screen resolution.
The Wiko View2 Pro’s display has the following features: IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors, 6.0 inches screen size (~80.6% screen-to-body ratio), 720 x 1528 pixels screen resolution. I’d like to give this round to Wiko, what do you think?
Nokia 6.1 Plus vs Wiko View 2 PRO: Camera
The Nokia 6.1 has a dual camera with a total of 21MP, depth sensors, and DUAL-LED dual-tone flash. Its selfie camera is 16MP. The Wiko View2 pro has a total of 32MP and a DUAL-LED dual-tone flash. Its selfie camera is also 16MP. Wiko takes the floor again, giving Nokia no breathing space.
Nokia 6.1 Plus vs Wiko View 2 PRO: CPU / OS
The Nokia 6.1 has the following platform feature: Octa-core 1.8Ghz Kyro 260 processor, QUALCOMM Snapdragon 636 chipset and Android Oreo that can be upgraded to Android Pie.
The View2 Pro has the following platform feature: Octa-core 1.8Ghz Kyro 260 processor, QUALCOMM Snapdragon 450 chipset and Android Oreo operating system. Nokia has this round, although it’s a slim turnaround.
Nokia 6.1 Plus vs Wiko View 2 PRO: ROM/RAM
The Nokia 6.1 has 4/6GB RAM and a 64GB ROM, it also has a MicroSD slot supporting up to 400GB. The View 2 also has a 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM, it comes with a MicroSD slot supporting up to 256GB. I guess Nokia wins this round by a hair’s line.
Nokia 6.1 Plus vs Wiko View 2 PRO: Battery
The Nokia 6.1 has a non-removable 3060 mAh Li-ion battery, the View2 Pro has a 3000 mAh Li-Po battery. Nokia takes the round again.
As for the Network, both phones are GSM/HSPA/LTE enabled although the View 2 Pro has Bluetooth 4.2 and the Nokia 6.1 has the Bluetooth 5.0 which makes it the alpha in that category.
Nokia has proven that it means business in coming back to business, it did quite well in this skip battle considering the fact that the Nokia 6.1 was launched in January 2018 and the View 2 Pro was produced in July 2018. We’ll have to give Nokia big applause and keep your eyes open, they aren’t done yet.
